Alan M. Sherman, D.P.M. was born February 10, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Colgate University, Hamilton, New York, graduating in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology. His undergraduate work included a Research Fellowship at the Yale University Medical School, New Haven, Connecticut, in the Department of Gynecologic Endocrinology.
	Dr. Sherman received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine, San Francisco in 1981. His clinical training included work at the Primary Care Podiatry Clinic at the California College, the Dermatology Department at Stanford University Medical Center, and Foot Orthopedic services at San Francisco Veterans Hospital, Parkview Hospital of Philadelphia and Jacksonville General Hospital.
	Dr. Sherman served as President of the American Podiatric Medical Student Association, the national organization of Podiatry students, in 1975. The duties of his position included serving as the liaison between other professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Podiatry Association, and American Medical Student Association. He was also selected to serve as Student Member of the National Board of Podiatry Examiners, Podiatry's national accrediting body.
	Dr. Sherman completed his Residency training in Podiatric Surgery at the Westchester General Hospital Podiatric Residency Program, Miami, Florida, which included outpatient work in the Department of Family Medicine, Jackson Memorial Hospital and surgery at Westchester General Hospital and Larkin General Hospital. He currently practices at the Medical Center at Delray, Delray Beach, Florida and is on staff at Delray Community Hospital and West Boca Medical Center.
	Dr. Sherman is Board Certified in foot and ankle surgery, having met the requirements for certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot Surgeons.

Dr. Sherman developed the premiere Internet publishing and services company for podiatrists, Podiatry Online.  It's products include the Podiatry Online web services site and the Podiatry Online NewsFlash, an electronic magazine.
